How to Care for Your Marble
Marble originally is a very shiny, beautiful, and elegant stone. However, as time goes by, this natural shine can rapidly fade away, particularly when the marble is used on the floor.
In such situations, many don’t know what to do. That is why, in order to help you maintain the beauty that made you fall in love with marble, we are going to give you tips on how to take care of your marble. I- Polishing your Marble Floors:
Having marble on your floor is good but, taking good care of its better. With time and use, the marble begins to fade and of course, becomes less attractive. To resolve this problem, a few tips will be of help. But the first step is determining if the marble is natural or cultured as we have to proceed differently to obtain a shiny marble. To do so, you can research the various easy methods to differentiate both. Back to the polishing, after determining which marble type you have, you should:
– Remove existing stains. Marble being a very porous material will retain stains quite easily. If you intend to polish it without first taking care of the stains, the result will probably not be pleasing. That is why, before polishing, make sure you get rid of the stains as there exist several methods for that.
– Get to the Polishing: Before you get to the polishing in itself, make sure the marble is dry to avoid scratches as it does so very easily and use a dry microfiber cloth to remove any sort of dirt or dust before you begin. You can then use a mixture of water and baking soda as polish. Combine 45 g of baking soda with 0.9 L of water and mix well. Then using a clean cloth, apply the mixture to your surface in a thin layer and allow it to dry for about 5 hours. After that, use a Microfiber cloth and warm water to rinse. Then, dry buff the marble using a clean microfiber or chamois cloth, and gently wipe down the marble in wide, circular motions. Move in progressively smaller circles as the surface dry.
Note however that to avoid stains, you need to seal your marble frequently.

II- Bringing back the original shine of your marble:
In order to make your marble shiny again, you need to apply the above-mentioned processes which are, cleaning, and polishing. If done properly, your marble will be a little shinier than before. As finishing touch, you can get professionals to seal your marble and that will give it a finishing touch of shine. Sealing is also a preventive measure for stains.
