Not to be confused with quartzite, quartz countertop slabs have their differences from other stones. Quartz stone (Engineered Stone) are different from granite in that they don’t require an initial or continual sealing. As an engineered stone, the quartz countertops have their imperfections and flaws removed through the engineering process. Whereas granite has natural veining and striations that have the potential to crack open in the future (although not likely). Engineered Stone Countertopsare also less prone to marking and staining because of the presence of resins and binding agents that are added when the slabs are being created
